All fermentors, bottle and materials must be cleaned thoroughly and sterilized. Preferably use a special cleaner-sterilizer, as available in the shops. Note to wash the sterilizer out with lots of water to avoid killing the yeast.

According to Brewferm‘s instructions it’s suggested to used boiled and cooled down water. This benefits both taste and head of the beer.

On Wednesday 17th of February our brewing barrel was filled up with:
- Brewferm’s Gold – 12 liters – 5.5% expected alcohol
- 525gr of Caribbean Gold sugar – Raw demerara sugar – Made from “Caribbean Gold, Holland” – Note that’s 5% more than the indicated sugar (500gr) because this is raw sugar.
- 11 liters of boiled tap water

On Tuesday 9th of February our brewing barrel was filled up with:
- Brewferm’s Gold – 12 liters – 5.5% expected alcohol
- 525gr of Caribbean Gold sugar – Raw demerara sugar – Made from “Caribbean Gold, Holland” – Note that’s 5% more than the indicated sugar (500gr) because this is raw sugar. Note 2: Because of lack of kitchen scale probably I have ~100gr of sugar in there. To cross check final gravity
- 11 liters of boiled tap water
